In my personal opinion, there's nothing better than a truly funny, successful, confident woman who also happens to serve up plenty of fashion inspiration for me on the daily. Amy Schumer wore Zac Posen to the 2015 Emmy Awards and looked completely stunning. Even if the outfit (or her brand of comedy) isn't quite your cup of tea, you have to appreciate the fact that she represents the idea of refusing to apologizing for who you are and boldly saying "who cares?" to traditional standards for women in media. So many good things there. While, personally, I was expecting (or maybe secretly hoping) for Schumer to wear something more dramatic, I love how the color looks on Schumer and it's a stunning gown in any case.
Schumer is nominated for best actress in a comedy series for her work on Inside Amy Schumer, so even though there's a lot on the line for the actress, the gown by Zac Posen seems to fit her effortlessly and add to her comfortable, non-competitive demeanor throughout the evening. I mean, can you imagine an uptight version of Amy Schumer? Yeah, me either.
The teal gown looks amazing on Schumer and is one of her best looks yet, IMHO.
So how does this look compare to her past red carpet looks? Let's take a look.
Very cute and simple — maybe not a nominee red carpet look, but still cute.
2015 Premiere Of Trainwreck
This shade of blue is amazing on Schumer. Can we see this in a full-length gown, please?
Another 2015 Trainwreck Premiere
My favorite part of this outfit is, obviously, that amazing braid.
Yet Another 2015 Trainwreck Premiere
Side boob is an accessory, I guess? Right?
2015 MTV Movie Awards
White is a good color on Schumer. For. Sure.
So how did the teal dress at the 2015 Emmys compare to Schumer's past looks? Well, IMO, this look was a bold move for Schumer in the sense that it was a structurally bold dress, and makes me excited to see more looks from her on future red carpets.
