This is sad news for Kate Upton, but probably excellent news for the masses of men and women who have a crush on her: According to Us Weekly, Kate Upton and Maksim Chmerkovskiy have broken up after six months of dating, citing their busy schedules as the reason the relationship failed.
News of the two being an item first broke in July, when the Sports Illustrated model and the Dancing With the Stars alum were spotted having dinner together in NYC. "They are really good friends still and speak all the time, but their schedules just made it too difficult and it fell apart," a "source" close to the couple reportedly told Us about the couple's break-up. "[Chmerkovskiy] has a lot of respect for her, but it just wasn't working anymore."
Unsurpringly, a rep for Chmerkovskiy declined to comment on the break-up.
Sad, but at the very least, Upton and Chmerkovskiy don't have to spend the foreseeable future wallowing and listening to Demi Lovato's "Skyscraper" as they eat a pint of Ben & Jerry's to mourn their lost relationship — Upton will soon begin promotion for her upcoming film The Other Woman (the trailer for which just dropped yesterday), and Chmerkovskiy just performed at the AMAs with Jennifer Lopez last month.
You may now once again go back to dreaming that you actually have a shot with Kate Upton.
