7 Couples From Your Fave '00s Shows Who Dated IRL

by Michelle McGahan

If there's one thing that everyone loves, it's a classic Hollywood romance. You know, your typical boy meets girl on the set of an early 2000s era WB drama, boy falls in love with girl, boy and girl date fora little while and break up or eventually get married. It's like Kevin Williamson orchestrated these on-screen-to-real-life romances himself, and, knowing his penchant for broody teen drama, there's a good chance that he may have. (JK. The Dawson's Creek creator may know the way to a dramatic teen girl's heart, but even he couldn't make Pacey and Joey fall in love IRL. That's the work of God right there.)

In all seriousness, it's like early '00s TV shows were a breeding ground for off-screen celeb relationships. Sure, it's common that stars fall in love on set, but it's just so much more exciting when these sets just happen to be ones like Dawson's Creek, The O.C., Gilmore Girls, and One Tree Hill. Even if the couples didn't actually stay together, just the mere fact that they dated is enough to get fans right in the feels. And when these feels are coupled with nostalgia feels... well then, that's really a force to be reckoned with.

Check out seven celeb couples who fell in love on set of your favorite early '00s shows.

1. Katie Holmes & Joshua Jackson

Not only did their respective characters date throughout the majority of Dawson's Creek (I literally shrieked at my TV when Joey picked Pacey), Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson also dated off-screen during Season 1. Even though they're not together anymore (Pacey and Joey for life; sorry Diane Kruger), Holmes later referred to the actor as her "first love" in an interview with Rolling Stone.

2. Alexis Bledel & Milo Ventimiglia

Rory and Jess never managed to quite work things out on Gilmore Girls, and neither did Alexis Bledel and Milo Ventimiglia in real life. The two met on set when Ventimiglia played the bad boy of Stars Hollow, and later dated for three and a half years before calling it quits in 2006.

3. Chad Michael Murray & Sophia Bush

#Brucas fans were psyched when CMM and Sophia Bush tied the knot. Sadly, their marriage only lasted for five months before the couple called it off. Bush later said on Watch What Happens Live that they "were two stupid kids who had no business being in a relationship in the first place. To all the other costars who've worked it out, more power to you."

4. Adam Brody & Rachel Bilson

Seth Cohen and Summer Roberts are forever #RelationshipGoals, especially since Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson dated for three solid years in real life after meeting on set of The O.C. Brody later went on to marry Leighton Meester, and Bilson married Hayden Christensen, so yeah, they're both doing alright.

5. Mila Kunis & Ashton Kutcher

There is nothing better in this world than the fact that Jackie and Kelso from That '70s Show are married with a kid. Somewhere, Wilmer Valderrama is throwing a Fez-themed party.

6. Chris Pratt & Emily VanCamp

Yes, Chris Pratt and Emily VanCamp dated even though they played siblings on Everwood. Apparently, the whole siblings-on-screen, tongue-in-mouth-off-screen thing never bothered Pratt, who, according to MovieFone, was well-aware that the show was entirely fictitious. Smart man.

7. Alyson Hannigan & Alexis Denisof

These two Buffy the Vampire Slayer stars met on set — and have been happily married since 2003. Isn't it nice when it all works out?
