Hilary Rhoda Stunned In A Unique Wedding Gown

by Alexa Tucker

Here comes the bride...or should I say the fashion model? In this case, both. The gorgeous Hilary Rhoda married Sean Avery in a Carolina Herrera gown on Oct. 10, according to E! Online. To my surprise, the dress was far from traditional. Suited for an aisle or a red carpet, the dress may have been unconventional, but man, was it stunning.

Against a beautiful Hamptons evening backdrop, the bride's dress featured a black studded neckline, a chest cut-out with sparkling teal underlay, and an elegant low back, according to E!. Words can't quite do it justice, though – maybe it's the supermodel effect, but the whole ensemble was breathtakingly beautiful. Rhoda paired the dress with a chic low bun and 14.7 karat (!!!) Chopard diamond earrings, according to People. Oh, and her ever-present smile.

Of course, a unique partner calls for a unique gown. Avery isn't just a former NHL-er, but also a stage actor, a model, a restauranteur, and most notably, a fashion aficionado (he famously interned for Vogue in the NHL's 2008 off-season.) In 2014, he told E! News that he wanted to see Rhoda walk down the aisle in "something untraditional." He didn't think white was necessary, either.

Looks like Rhoda granted his wish, and more:

How gorgeous does she look? Not one to be upstaged, Avery posted an Instagram saying, "I wore @jamesperse suit to get married yesterday that is made out of #jersey #cotton and is a sweatsuit disguised as a suit." Now that's my kind of wedding ensemble.

However, there was clearly no chance of anyone overshadowing the bride, not even her bridesmaids, who wore stylish black cut-out gowns.

Congratulations to the happy (and gorgeous) couple!

Here are three other celebrity brides who recently strayed from the norm for their big day.

Solange Knowles

The musician (and Beyonce's sister) wore a stylish cape dress for her nuptials with Alan Ferguson.

Olivia Palermo

Half of the world's most stunning couple, Olivia Palermo wore Carolina Herrera as well to marry Johannes Huebl.

Angelina Jolie

Never one to stick to the norm, the train of Jolie's dress was decorated with the drawings of her and husband Brad Pitt's kiddos.
