Rihanna Visits ‘The Voice’ & Contestants Go Wild

It's no secret that Rihanna is a major force in the music industry. With eight Grammy Awards to her name, Rihanna is one of the top-selling artists of all time. Oh, and Rihanna is also releasing her new album through her own company, making her even more powerful. Considering the icon status, it's no surprise that the mere presence of Rihanna overwhelms people. Case in point: When Rihanna stopped by The Voice to mentor contestants. They fangirled — hard — but can you really blame them?

All of the glory was captured in a new teaser for The Voice. From breathlessly addressing her as "Badgirl RiRi" to asking for multiple hugs from the singer, the contestants couldn't get over the fact that the star was onstage with them. Even Gwen Stefani noted how intensely people reacted, joking, "Oh, my gosh! Oh, my gosh! Rihanna!" It's funny to watch because the contestants' reactions are all of us.

We've become accustomed to seeing coaches like Adam Levine, Pharrell, Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Usher and Shakira on the show. Even though they collectively have an unbelievable number of Grammys, each one has an element of reliability that makes them feel accessible. Rihanna, on the other hand, is on a whole other level.

Musically, she drops hit after hit. Not only are they big songs, but they have a massive staying power. From "Umbrella" to "We Found Love" to "Diamonds," her music routines becomes iconic in pop culture. Additionally, her collaborations are with the best artists in the world. Everything she does elevates her career.

Rihanna is also a star in the fashion world, where she routinely tops best-dressed lists and never fails to make a statement with her style choices. Whether she's rocking a canary yellow cape at the Met Gala or a sheer gown at the CFDA Fashion Awards, her bold decisions add another layer to her untouchable persona.

Her lifestyle, which appears nothing short of extravagant, also helps perpetuate her superstar image. Flying jets, exotic vacations, and expensive purchases are all within range for Rihanna. It's not hard to imagine that meeting her in person would be the coolest.

Perhaps that's the biggest component of all: Rihanna appears totally down-to-earth and is so sweet to the contestants. No diva behavior here. That's a relief because I know if I was to meet her, I'd totally be fangirling too.
