Kim K Admires Charlotte Tilbury For A Ridic Reason

I'm not saying that the Kardashian beauty game isn't on point. I'd be a total liar if I tried to say that. In fact, I'll cop to loving their prowess with highlighter, but Kim Kardashian sleeps with her makeup on and idolizes Charlotte Tilbury for doing the same. According to The Cut, during Kardashian's introduction speech for Tilbury at the InStyle Awards, the reality star explained that the makeup artist doesn't allow her husband to see her without her game face on, and for that, she's deserving of praise and admiration. Now, excuse me, but that just seems a little excessive, right? Kardashian may be taking the beauty game a little too seriously at this point.

The Kardashians — Kim in particular — are known for their dominance of the makeup and fashion world. While not everyone loves their style — and are plenty vocal about their aversion — many are the opposite. The sisters are lauded for their brilliant choice of makeup artist and their stylish and chic hair changes. I'm not going to be the type of woman who faults others for loving beauty and changing their looks, but I will get a little judgy about this story, especially since it's rumored that Kardashian had a glam squad when she went into labor. At some point, you just need to reach for a makeup wipe and let your skin breathe. However, that doesn't seem like it'll be the case for the famously made up Kardashian.

During Monday night's awards, Kardashian explained her admiration for Makeup Artist of the Year award winner Charlotte Tilbury. It was a speech though that kind of weirded me out. Kardashian said, "Charlotte Tilbury is my hero because she has never let her husband see her without makeup on. She sleeps with her makeup on. She's my idol. She's inspired me when I am really lazy and I can't do my makeup the next day, so I'll sleep in my makeup." Maybe not really what someone wants to be idolized for, am I right?

Tilbury's career has been long and uber successful. Her own makeup and skincare lines are some of the best on the market, and her work on celebrity clients is amazing. Thankfully though, Kardashian did take a moment to praise Tilbury's brand — kind of — when she continued with, "I know that's probably the worst advice, but she has all the magic creams to put on the next day to make up for it."

Though Kardashian's speech did start out more than a little rough, she finished it up really well. Praising Tilbury for her ability to juggle professionalism and comraderie with clients while they're in her chair. Kardashian explained that Tilbury "believes that makeup makes you feel empowered and confident" and that's what she love about the makeup artist. The speech was clearly appropriate as the artist had a bevy of celeb clients at the event to celebrate her honor.

While Tilbury's celeb clients and portfolio of work shouldn't be glossed over, something a bit more accessible than a session in Tilbury's makeup chair is her product line. Kardashian herself even shouted out Tilbury's skincare. So what products are stellar standouts from the line?
