At the 'GIRLS' Premiere, Lena Dunham, Allison Williams, Zosia Mamet, and Jemima Kirk Upped the Style Ante
They may not be able to afford designer duds on the show, but last night, the cast of GIRLS showed off their glamorous sides at the premiere for the third season of their hit HBO series. Near-freezing temperatures couldn't stop Lena Dunham, Allison Williams, Zosia Mamet, and Jemima Kirk from putting on their prettiest dresses, giving us a sense of their true style personalities (which isn't all that similar to that of their onscreen counterparts).
Perhaps it was because they all knew Anna Wintour would be in attendance (in a playful Prada coat, no less). From Saint Laurent to Rochas, here's exactly what each girl wore.
Lena Dunham glittered in a silver sequined Rochas dress that fell right above her similarly dazzling shoes. She deemed it sparkly enough that she skipped on jewels, keeping the attention on her gorgeous gown. Dunham kept her makeup simple, wearing a smoky eye and nude lips. Her hair, which seems to be on its way from a pixie to a bob, looked equally stellar. We wouldn't have guessed Hannah to be a fan of sequins since we're so used to seeing her in floral and checkered prints, so we're glad to see Dunham step out of character a little bit, showing off her more elegant side.
Jemima Kirke, aka the boho goddess, stayed true to her style, wearing an ivory vintage silk gown. It was totally on trend for this season’s obsession with slip dresses. I particularly loved the embroidered bodice, which added flair to the otherwise very simple spaghetti strap dress. To match her retro ensemble, Kirke wore her hair in a loose chignon, letting curls fall around her face. To complete her look, she wore a classic red lip.
Allison Williams embraced her girly and polished style in a light blue Dior gown (matching her icy blue eyes), which featured a beautifully embellished bodice and pleated skirt. To match, she wore blush-colored Dior pumps, white and gold Dior earrings and, a big Dior diamond on her finger (So. Good.). The shininess didn’t stop there, however. Williams wrapped her tightly knit bun with jewels, too.
Unlike the rest of her costars, Zosia Mamet kept things simple and sleep in a LBD. But, of course, not just any LBD. This sexy iteration was designed by Saint Laurent and featured a deep neckline. Mamet wore a similarly simple hairstyle, keeping her naturally wavy brunette locks loose. She accessorized her LBD with gold accents, from her bangles to her pointy pumps. Although the other girls looked equally stunning, Mamet’s classic look was my favorite of the night.
