George and Amal have some exciting news! Before you get too excited, no, they did not just have a baby, but they did expand their family. George and Amal Clooney adopted a Basset Hound named Millie and she's the cutest thing ever. The San Gabriel Valley Humane Society shared the news via Facebook Wednesday by posting an adorable photo of the Clooneys with Millie and their other adopted pup, cocker spaniel Louie. The site wrote, "ADOPTED! Millie was adopted by George Clooney and his wife Amal!! Millie, a Basset Hound, now has a new brother named Louie who is also a rescue! Congratulations and thank you for adopting!"
The humane society also gushed about Millie finding her forever home on its official website. "It was a happy day at the shelter for Millie!," the site reads. "She is a four-year-old Basset Hound mix with gorgeous looks that would land her on any 'Hush Puppies' commercial! Despite those adorable googly eyes, pretty long ears, and shorty legs, Millie was found without a home and hoping for food scraps outside of a local restaurant in San Gabriel earlier this month."
Thankfully, George and Amal showed up and acted like real-life superheroes by having her join their family. According to the humane society's post, they were looking for a Basset Hound and discovered Millie on Petfinder, which led to a "meet and greet" with themselves and Louie. It seems Millie and Louie "hit it off."
Their happy story is even more proof of why it's so important to adopt, not shop. I mean, if their smiles aren't enough reason to rescue pets, what is?
