'Parks & Rec' Celebrates 100 Episodes

by Alanna Bennett

Parks and Recreation is a hundred episodes old, you guys. And that doesn't make us feel old for once, it just makes us feel happy. Because they let this little beacon of joy of a show survive, and we are all better for it. NBC also released this Parks and Rec featurette of the cast selecting their favorite moments of the series so far. And it is great. Also: Aubrey Plaza demonstrates some (probably made up?) bird calls.

The whole thing opens with Perd Hapley doing a song and dance routine, which is....well, it's perfect is what it is. We just finished watching this thing which means we're guaranteed a generally happy demeanor for at least the next hour, barring someone on twitter saying something really annoying.

Moments paid tribute to in this featurette? Joan Callamezzo powdering her vagina, Jerry/Gary/Larry's heart attack fart attack, that truly great "network connectivity problems" improv by Chis Pratt, Ron and Tammy's animalistic diner makeout session, all of them slipping on the ice, etc. There's also this classic monologue by Ben Schwartz' Jean-Ralphio.

What up, Big Teeeeeee...stop. This must be the lovely Donna. Enchanté. Listen beautiful, let's cut the bull, alright? You want this. I definitely want this. T.H. wants this. Let's seal this devil's threeway right here, right now. Step one: We buy into this club. Step two: We roll over to the club, either in your Mercedes-Benz or my pre-owned Acura Legend. Step three: I dagger you on the dancefloor. Just bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce, now all the ladies sayin', bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce. What do you say, sexy?

Iconic.

Long live Parks and Recreation! Someone make sure they're allowed to do this show for as long as they damn well please, OK? That is all that I ask.
