You'll Want To Get Your Hands On Glossier's Latest

by Erin Mayer

Chances are high that you're familiar with cooler than cool beauty brand Glossier's cult favorite products, from the classic Balm Dotcom skin salve to the newly released Boy Brow pomade — or, at the very least, the brand's Instagram-friendly packaging. Now, Glossier is entering the holiday gift set game with a limited edition Mask Duo Set. The set will include six single serving pods of the brand's Mega Greens Galaxy Pack and Moisturizing Moon Mask, plus a spa headband, and will retail for $38.

"We wanted the Mask Duo Set to be the ultimate treat," Glossier founder and CEO, Emily Weiss, tells me over email, "the box is actually inspired by a box of chocolates. So we made our best selling masks super giftable, perfect for anyone (including yourself) who needs an excuse to take forty minutes and chill." I'll take one for everyone on my holiday shopping list please!

This set is perfect for a good ole multimasking session. "Mega Greens works to draw out impurities while adding nutrients back in, while the Moon Mask provides intense, rich hydration. The products are gentle enough to be used on their own, but we think they work best when you do one right after the other to balance everything out," Weiss says.

The gift set comes in a pale lavender box with Glossier spelled out in elegant gold script, which is quite a departure from the brand's signature pink and white, but is still in keeping with the clean look of the other products. You can scoop it up exclusively at glossier.com beginning Monday, Nov. 2.

Want to learn more about Glossier? Read on for more from Weiss, who dishes on everything from her favorite products to the future of the brand.

1. On Her Favorite Glossier Product

"That’s like picking a favorite child!" she tells me, before sharing that the one thing she really can't live without is the brand's Priming Moisturizer. "It plumps and preps my skin, reducing redness and leaving the most amazing dewy finish."

2. On The Brand's Signature Pink

"We take a lot of care with our packaging, as we do with everything at Glossier. We want all the products to look great in your medicine cabinet. Our signature “Glossier pink” came about pretty naturally during the brand development process last summer. It feels nostalgic and irreverent, while still being very polished and chic."

3. On Her Secret Use For Balm Dotcom Universal Skin Salve

Balm Dotcom, $12, Glossier

There are about a million and one uses for Glossier's popular Balm Dotcom — which now comes in coconut! — but I just had to ask if Weiss had any secrets for making the most out of the product. "I love dabbing excess of the Balm from my lips onto my cheekbones and up toward my eyelids as a highlight." Genius!

4. On The ONE Beauty Product She Can't Live Without

Perhaps unsurprisingly, especially given the "no makeup makeup" look that Weiss favors, Balm Dotcom is also the one product that she brings with her wherever she goes. "I feel completely naked if I don’t have one in my bag, my other bag, at my desk, and in my medicine cabinet."

5. On The Future Of Glossier

So, what can we expect from the brand in the future? "We’re getting ready to launch a cleanser in January. It’ll be Glossier’s first truly crowd sourced product, so we’re excited to give girls exactly what they’ve been wishing for in a face wash," Weiss tells me. "Beyond that you can look forward to several essential skincare and even makeup additions to the Glossier collection in 2016." Does that mean Glossier lipstick is in my future? I sure hope so.
