Carly Rae Plays Dress Up In Cinderella Costume

by Lia Beck

Carly Rae Jepsen has been known, primarily, for one thing up until this point — "Call Me Maybe," duh —and she's trying to make it very clear that she's got more going on than giving guys her number and either being called or not called by them. Carly Rae Jepsen has posted photos of herself wearing her Cinderella costume for her upcoming starring role on Broadway and she's reallllly excited about it.

It was first revealed that Jepsen would be playing the title role in Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella back in December. The Canadian singer will be taking over the role from Laura Osnes and will star in the show for 12 weeks starting Feb. 4. Jepsen will be joined by Fran Drescher who will play her evil stepmother.

Jepsen has been tweeting about the role quite a bit since the role was revealed and she's been very obviously stoked about it. As she should be, I'm just saying, it seems that when this girl is excited about something, she does not hold back on expressing it. Hmm... just like that guy in the song she gave her number to... but I digress. In the pictures Jepsen posted on Instagram of her Cinderella dress, she was just as spirited.

Jepsen captioned this photo, "First day on set and they let me try on the BIG wedding dress! They had to bribe me with smarties to take it off. @CinderellaBway let's play dress up again tmr please! #CinderellaBway" This is so saccharine that it even involves an actual mention of candy! How do you do it Carly?! Teach us to be as happy as you! It might just involve wearing a gigantic dress, eating sugar, and staring at yourself. I'm not sure.

For this pic Jepsen wrote, "And this is the moment I tried on the glass slipper for the first time. @Cinderellabway it fits! Xo#CinderellaBway." I love how the lighting in this dressing room makes it look like she's literally glowing. Also I hope the glass slipper is actually lucite. Broadway doesn't need anymore violent incidents after Spiderman.

Perhaps Carly Rae Jepsen just read our Cinderella-"Call Me Maybe" mash-up song lyrics to make herself so giddy. She does seem to think she looks "so hot in this dress."
