Karlie Kloss Goes Pretty In Pink

by Kelsey Nguyen

From Cher's feather pen to Elle Woods' blouse/skirt combo, the color pink has become synonymous with all things stylish and feminine. At the WSJ Innovator Awards on Wednesday, Karlie Kloss went pretty in Prada pink. The statement frock is not shy from flashing a little flesh with its low-cut front and backless design. Of course, Kloss is no foreign face in the world of pink — she previously modeled for Victoria's Secret PINK and recently retired her sequined VS Angel wings in February. Lucky for us, however, Kloss is still sticking to her pink roots both on and off the runway.

In true Millennial fashion, Kloss posted a snapshot of her (black) carpet ensemble on Instagram yesterday. Rounding out the dazzling outfit are Cartier earrings and a matching clutch and heels done in metallic silver. Perhaps my favorite part of this Prada number? The built-in belt and beaded detailing, which instantly elevates the dress from sexy to full-on glamour. Sleek yet packed with a girly punch — what more could you ask from Kloss?

From vibrant fuchsia to dusty roses, it's now all about fifty shades of pink.

1. Seeing Spots

Polka dots and pink are essentially a match made in satorial heaven — and together, they create a look that is childhood innocence meets modern quirky. Adorable camera prop optional.

2. All Worked Up

There many reasons to be envious of Kloss, and a life that includes exercising with the magnificent Seine River in the background is just one of them. After all, why settle for your local gym when you can have all of the arrondissements of Paris?

3. Cue The Nostalgia

Even back in the day, Kloss couldn't stray away from frilly pink frocks. How long will it be before sugarplum fairy chic becomes the latest trend?

4. Fairytale Worthy

When Elie Saab and Karlie Kloss team up, beautiful things happen. From the sheer floral panels to dreamy pastel hue, this look is basically Disney princess in real life. Petition to have Kloss play the live action Rapunzel?

5. The More, The Better

At Diane von Furstenburg this September, Kloss, along with fellow catwalk comrades Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, stunned in a pink wrap dress. Eye candy, anyone?

6. Fly Away

Of course, no list could be complete without Kloss in a Victoria's Secret masterpiece. At the VS Fashion Show in 2013, she donned vibrant butterfly wings with a matching pink bra and panty set. This is color done right.
