Got $10? You Could Win A Date With Clooney

by Lia Beck

You could win a date with George Clooney and that is not a catchy little phrase used to convince you to read this article. No, you seriously could win a date with George Clooney. With just a simple $10 donation you could find yourself out on a date with George Clooney next month. Is that clear enough for ya? One more time just to be sure. You could win a date with George Clooney.

In order to enter win the date (which is an entire day from morning until night, but we'll get to that), all you have to do is donate $10 to Sattelite Sentinel Project (SSP), an organization Clooney co-founded. According to Omaze, the website hosting the fundraiser,

SSP conducts monitoring of the border between Sudan and South Sudan as well as hot spots within Sudan to identify potential threats to civilians, and detect, deter, and document war crimes and crimes against humanity. SSP also is focusing on the intersection between elephant poaching and human rights abuses by focusing on the role of the Lord’s Resistance Army and other armed groups who commit mass atrocities and also poach elephants to fund their activities.

So first you donate to a good cause, then you wait and see if your name is chosen at random from the ridiculously large number of people who enter the contest. If you win, you'll be flown to New York City and get to spend the entire day of Feb. 4 with Clooney. You'll start with a Late Show with David Letterman taping where you'll get to hang out backstage just like Stacy Keibler used to, followed by a walk on the red carpet at the Monuments Men premiere, then you'll hit up the VIP after party. If any of this sounds too awkward, you'll also get to bring along a friend so that you can point and gawk at everyone together.

Sound good? Then get donating. Maybe if you win, you guys will end up falling in love and it can become a rom-com starring George Clooney and your choice of actress. You never know.
