Miley Cyrus Is Banned In France

I have to say, I never expected this from France. According to The Cut, France has decided that Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears are both unsuitable for daytime television, and has banned Spears' "Work Bitch" video and Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" video for being too raunchy to be played on TV before 10 p.m. Jeez, France, any more television rules and you'll be worse than the Parents Television Council.

The decision was announced by France's watchdog group, the Conseil Superieur de l'Audiovisuel (CSA), in a press release on Wednesday. The release, (which is written in French, obviously), describes Spears' "Work Bitch" video as being indicative of a "sadomasochistic universe" which is meant to "shock" viewers, and says that Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" video is just way too sexual to be aired when young viewers could be watching television. It also noted concern over the fact that the videos were being aired without any parental guidance warnings.

And so, the CSA is now just advising that the videos not be aired on any channels until after 10 at night and before 6 in the morning. Because teenagers definitely don't have an Internet connection that would allow them to just look up the videos online at any time they want, and watch them like that...

Definitely not.
