Is The Paris Shooter Dead?

Update: French police confirmed a total of six attacks in Paris, including two suicide attacks and one bombing near the Stade de France, as well as attacks at the Bataclan concert hall and a restaurant. French news outlets reported that police launched an assault on the Bataclan concert hall, where gunmen were holding 100 hostages. According to The Guardian, eight attackers are dead, several of whom died after detonating suicide belts. Authorities have reported that the number of fatalities has reached at least 120. ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attacks; President Hollande agrees it was the terror group. A motive has yet to be determined.

Earlier: On Friday evening, a gunman opened fire in a Paris restaurant, killing at least 60, according to the AFP. The identity of the shooter is currently unclear and details about the incident are still emerging, with the BBC reporting that this is still an active situation. In addition to the restaurant shoot, there was also a separate incident at a location near the Stade de France. According to the AP, French authorities have confirmed that an explosion went off close to the stadium, although it's been reported that these incidents are related.

According to additional reports from Agence France-Presse, there is also currently a hostage situation inside a Paris concert hall. The AFP cites French police as confirming that hostages are being held within the Bataclan concert hall, in the city's 11th arrondissement. So far, this is no info on the shooter, nor those who are holding the concert-goers hostage. Many are wondering if this is ISIS-related, but it's too soon to tell.

President Obama shared his thoughts on the attack Friday night, saying: "This is an attack not just on Paris...this is an attack on all of humanity and the values that we share." The French president spoke Friday night as well, saying he's decided to close the borders so that those who committed the crimes can be caught.

On Friday night, the AP reported that two of the shooters at the Bataclan Concert Hall have been killed.

Their identities have not yet been revealed:

Reuters reported that the operation to secure the Hall is now over. The police raid was successful. People were seen coming out of the theater on stretchers, many of whom looked very young.

More to come.
