This A-List Director Wants Adam Driver

by Alanna Bennett

If there's any one person who's most broken out since they began their tenure on HBO's Girls — other than the obvious, AKA Lena Dunham — it's Adam Driver. He's been showing up at all the award shows lately because of his role in Inside Llewyn Davis, and now Adam Driver might join Martin Scorcese's next film.

The Wolf Of Wall Street director's next film is reportedly called Silence, and is set in 17th Century Japan. The other stars currently signed on include The Social Network and Amazing Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield, as well as Inception's Ken Watanabe.

His casting is still more rumor-y than official, but given Driver's acting cred at the moment we'd be a bit surprised if it didn't go through. He just feels Scorcese, you know?

Silence is based off a novel of the same name by Shusaku Endo. The IMDb description describes it thusly:

In the 17th century two Jesuit priests face violence and persecution when they travel to Japan to locate their mentor and to spread the gospel of Christianity.

The tagline? "Sometime silence is the deadliest sound."

Girls just premiered last night, so we'll see how this season's Adam actions impact everything. Our guess is they'll only make him more popular.
