11 Warm & Fuzzy Disney Quotes About Family

by Caitlyn Callegari

No one’s family is perfect, and that is a fact. But, whether it’s the family we were born into or the family we’ve chosen to spend our lives with, they are undeniably important to us despite the dysfunction. You know who’s really great at relaying the vitalness of family that we may sometimes take for granted? Disney. Yep, Disney has given us some of the most heartwarming quotes about family, and it’s going to make you want to put things into perspective.

When we’re kids, often times the lessons in Disney movies went over our little heads. Typically, kids are either into the action or the songs, not so much the morality of the thing. Who can blame them? Kids are in it for the entertainment. But, as adults, I think that all us Disney fans can finally appreciate the underlying message and beautiful sentiments that were right there for the taking. Quotes that we naively didn’t take advantage of before, but may seem so fitting and applicable to our lives now, even though they’re delivered through the mouths of cartoons.

Here are 11 Disney quotes that will most definitely make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, you big, sentimental mush, you:

1. Lilo And Stitch

"This is my family. I found it all on my own. It's little, and broken, but still good. Yeah. Still good." -Stitch

Oh, boy.

2. The Little Mermaid

Sebastian: Like I always say, Your Majesty, "Children have got to be free to lead their own lives."

Triton: You always say that, Sebastian?

Triton: Well I guess there's one problem left.

Sebastian: And what's that, Your Majesty?

Triton: How much I'm going to miss her.

If this Little Mermaid quote doesn't give you going-away-to-college feels, I don't know what will.

3. Aladdin

Princess Jasmine, proving that pets are our family, too, since 1992.

4. Mulan

Fa Zhou to Mulan, "The greatest gift and honor is having you for a daughter."

That's it. That's the movie.

5. Lilo And Stitch

This one makes me the warmest and the fuzziest.

6. The Lion King

Rafiki to Simba about the late Mufasa, "You see? He lives in you."

*Wipes at lone tear streaming down my face*

True that, Olaf.

8. Toy Story 2

Jessie: Let me guess. Andy's a real special kid, and to him, you're his buddy, his best friend, and when Andy plays with you it's like... even though you're not moving, you feel like you're alive, because that's how he sees you.

Woody: How did you know that?

Jessie: Because Emily was just the same. She was my whole world.

This quote really pulls at the heart strings. <3

9. Brave

Merida about her younger siblings, "I became a sister to three new brothers. The princes. Hamish, Hubert, and Harris. Wee devils, more like. They get away with murder. I can never get away with anything."

What older sibling can't lovingly relate?

10. Up

A dog's love is unconditional.

11. Finding Nemo

Dory, to Marlin, "No. No, you can't. STOP. Please don't go away. Please? No one's ever stuck with me for so long before. And if you leave... If you leave... I just, I remember things better with you. I do, look. P. Sherman, forty-two... forty-two... I remember it, I do. It's there, I know it is, because when I look at you, I can feel it. And, and I look at you, and I... and I'm home. Please. I don't want that to go away. I don't want to forget."

Because family is home.

Now, hold your loved ones a little tighter, will ya?
