Happy News For 'DWTS' Shippers

by Maura O'Malley

Now that my tears and sobbing have subsided, I can now share the happy news that Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd are engaged! The Dancing with the Stars pros have been dating on and off since 2012, and, according to People, the pair has finally decided to make things super committed. And, as a DWTS superfan and YouTube-proposal aficionado, I award the proposal a perfect 10.

According to People, Chmerkovskiy got on bended knee at the couple's dance performance of Sway at the Olympia Theatre in Miami, Florida in front of friends, family, and fans. With the ring in one hand and a microphone in the other, Chmerkovskiy reportedly said, "I'm in love with you and I want to be in love with you for the rest of my life. Will you marry me?" Yup, that happened. This is real life.

Of course, she said "yes," in the most fairytale-like way possible. Peta and Maks are so adorable and together, I'm sure they will create a troupe of super dancers who will take over the ballroom world, one salsa at a time.

After the show, Peta's future brother-in-law and fellow Dancing with the Stars pro, Valentin Chmerkovskiy had this to say on his Instagram, alongside an adorable photo of the big moment:

That's some heartwarming stuff right there. The only thing more precious than the actual proposal is all the social media love, the two lovebirds have been giving one another. It's a he-said, she-said instagram battle of lovey-doveyness.

Aww, everything about this post is on point. An adorable couple in love? Check? Sparkly dress? Check. A blushing face emoji? Check. You done good, Makism.

This right here qualifies as a #relationshipgoal.

Congrats to the happy couple. But you know what this truly means? That leaves only one Chmerkovskiy brother left on the market. So, DWTS fans, start your engines.
