Serena Williams Was Sexy In Black At 'SI' Event

Wowza! You are about to have your head turned. Tennis ace Serena Williams wore a sexy, strappy black dress at the Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year event. Williams was just christened with that coveted title and she earned it, thanks to all of her hard work as an athlete and off the court. It was a historical moment for multiple reasons. It made sense that she would celebrate in style, as Williams is the first African-American woman to win the award.

So congrats to Williams not only on her achievements, which are many, but also on her mind-blowing red carpet ensemble. She was once again proof that athletic ladies can be as sexy as hell and that they don't solely live in athleisure ensembles, although there is nothing wrong with that if they did.

It was a memorable LBD, but the "L" was more about the skirt being "long" than her dress being "little." It was Williams' twist on the LBD.

Williams' dress had a bustier-like top with straps. It certainly highlighted her shapely arms and her physique. The bottom was belted and the skirt had a major slit, so she could show some leg and some of the lacy detailing at will. She also wore her hair in a shaggy, textured lob and added a swipe of red lipstick for maximum impact.

This is like the best picture ever! Her smile did all of the work, even while she wore that daring frock.

Lava is probably jealous because Williams was positively molten in her LBD.

While the dress was super sultry, it wasn't too revealing. It was sexy without being too... sexpot. It was a total fashion win for Williams. And she is used to winning.

The dress had a lot of detail but Williams wore the frock, not the other way around.

The strappy top, with its bra-like nature, accentuated her super toned arms. Oh, and I think I am seeing pockets. Yes, I am seeing pockets. Those are always a fun detail for a skirt or a dress.

Congrats again to SI's Sportsperson of the Year, who also happens to be quite a fashion star, too. You should totally check out Williams' own athleisure fashion collection while you are at it.
