Channing Tatum Has Won 'Lip Sync Battle' Season 2

by Jordana Lipsitz

Lip Sync Battle is the show we were all waiting for. Thank the goddess Spike (the channel, not the dreamy AF vampire from Buffy) started the show last year or this world would be a much colder, darker place. I mean, in the latest trailer, Channing Tatum dresses as Elsa from Frozen to take on his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum for a lip sync battle. There's just no show like this on television. Where else would we have seen such touching and completely hilarious moments like Joseph Gordon Levitt dressed as Janet Jackson, or witnessed Anne Hathaway swinging around on a wrecking because she was "just being Miley," or watching those Broad City ladies perform anything at all honesty (queens!)? And, boy, does Lip Sync Battle Season 2 look like it will be the most fun season of all.

There can never be enough LL Cool J content in my book as he stole my heart at the beginning of his acting career and I still haven't found it. (However, we can assume that it's in a large chest of fan body parts which Mr. Cool J keeps under his bed to give him power.) Just when you thought Season 1 was enough to satiate your inner beast, along came the trailer for Season 2. The one-hour premiere episode will feature Tatum going against his beautiful dancing machine life partner, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, and costumes included are some special pieces such as Tatum as Beyoncé for "Who Runs the World (Girls!) and Tatum as Elsa for "Let It Go." I honestly can't think of two roles I would rather seem that man pull off. Meanwhile, we get to look forward to some sort of Magic Mike dance by Dewan-Tatum in honor of her dancing fool of a husband. Amazing.

I have to say, I feel that Tatum's performances will be more interesting than his wife's. It seems he's going for comedy, and she's going for showing off her dancing skills. That's all well and good, but she's already famous for them, she doesn't really need to prove anything to to us. Hopefully I'm wrong and we get more showmanship out of her, because, from this trailer alone, there's already a clear winner in this competition.

Along with costume changes, there will also apparently be several surprise guests. This season, Lip Sync Battle is pulling out all of the stops, and I couldn't be more pleased about it. Bring on the year of the Tatum!
