Obama Joins Seinfeld for Cars, Coffee & Dad Jokes

by Maitri Suhas

Jerry Seinfeld’s Crackle series Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee is getting a super guest star this season, but he isn’t a comedian. In a preview for the show that dropped Monday, the Seinfeld star shows off some sleek rides and Seinfeld's biggest guest ever: Barack Obama, also known as the President of the United States of America. The final seconds of the fun new trailer (showing that season seven has some amazing stars like Steve Martin and Will Ferrell), Jerry pulls up to the White House. And I can’t wait to see President Dad Jokes strike again.

Whatever you might think of the president, you have to admit, Obama’s got style. He’s definitely among the coolest Commanders-in-Chief we’ve ever had, despite his mom jeans and dad jokes. It adds to his charm. And even though he’s incredibly intelligent and eloquent, it’s been clear throughout his run and especially in the past two years that Barack Obama is pretty hilarious.

Here's what I want to see from Barack Obama, president and amateur comedian, on Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee:

Sasha & Malia

Every time Obama pardons the turkey, Sasha and Malia are the true stars, rolling their eyes at the leader of the free world’s corny jokes. This year, the girls humored dad when he made some cheesy puns, an improvement on the epic attitude they’ve displayed in past years. I love them. I want to see Seinfeld asking them what they really feel about Obama’s dad jokes.

Trump Talk

Until recently, Barry had done his best not to comment on the Donald’s antics, but last week gave an in-depth interview about how Trump is fear-mongering and taking advantage of voters’ anxiety. But remember back at the 2011 White House Correspondents Dinner when Obama trolled trump onstage by releasing his “birth video?” That’s the kind of Trump roast I want to see, and Seinfeld might be just the guy to get Obama to poke fun (I know he’s got jokes).

The “Pop-Off” Moment

One of the best Obamoments in 2015 was when Obama got straight up pissed at the G-20 summit, responding to a question about ISIS and starting his answer with, "If folks wanna pop off..." I am so proud he is my president. If he hasn't heard the "Pop Off" remix, I hope Jerry Seinfeld does his duty as an American and shares it with him.

Comedy Talk

Obama has done a lot of funny interviews and TV spots, like Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifinikas, when he took over for Colbert on The Colbert Report, and the BuzzFeed video where he tries out a selfie stick and asks, "Can I live?" I want to know what else he has up his sleeve. Perhaps he'll even do a bit with Seinfeld. Maybe Obama can coerce a Seinfeld reunion out of Jerry... it could be an executive order.

We rarely see Barry at the wheel! Luckily, The Wrap reports that we will see both Seinfeld and Potus in the driver's seat of a 1963 Corvette Stingray Split Window Coupe. Smooth.

Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee is coming back on December 30 at 11:30 PM on Crackle. Watch the presidential teaser:
