Are you as thrilled as I am that Galavant, a silly medieval midseason musical, is coming back to ABC for Season 2? One of the best things about the debut season were its many famous faces; what guest stars will be in Galavant Season 2? The new episodes are chock full of recognizable names and big talents who surely had a lot of fun with the Galavant cast.
This show is just so much unabashed fun, and I would love to believe that Crazy Ex-Girlfriend owes a bit of its success to this underdog. They have similar "meta" sensibilities when it comes to poking fun at the genre. The Galavant Season 2 premiere is titled “A New Season aka Suck It Cancellation Bear,” for goodness' sake! Last season's guest stars included Weird Al Yankovic and Ricky Gervais — you truly never know who you're going to see next.
The toe-tapping epic will pick up with our heroes sometimes literally scattered to the winds. They're all on separate adventures, which gives them the opportunity to visit new characters. In addition to the main cast, Hugh Bonneville, Kemaal Deen-Ellis, Sophie McShera, and John Stamos will all return in their respective hilarious Season 1 guest starring roles. As for fresher blood, here are the new faces due to pop up in Season 2, according to ABC’s press releases for the season.
Kylie Minogue
The Australian artist will appear in the Season 2 premiere as a lounge singer called "The Queen."
Nick Frost
This actor, pictured with an eyepatch behind Joshua Sasse above, is famous for appearing in Edgar Wright's "Cornetto Trilogy" of films (The World's End, Shawn Of The Dead, and Hot Fuzz).
Robert Lindsay
Another British favorite, who according to TVLine will be playing a giant on Galavant.
Simon Callow
He will play "Edwin the Magnificent," who also according to TVLine is a psychic. Not to be confused with Simon Cowell, this actor has been seen in Amadeus, Shakespeare in Love, Phantom of the Opera and Four Weddings and a Funeral.
Sheridan Smith
She's known for the English series Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps as well as Gavin & Stacy, but also has a West End career in musical theater, most prominantly including the role of Elle Woods in the London cast of Legally Blonde: The Musical.
Clare Foster
Finally, this Eowyn/Ygritte type (named Roberta) is played by an actress you may recognize as one of the factory women from Les Miserables or the British police show The Bill. She also has many stage musical credits, from a current production of Guys and Dolls to Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along. Not all guest stars need to stunt casting, this proves that Galavant is committed to filling their second season with talent!
