I have never had to ask myself: "Do men love anal sex?", because in every relationship I've ever had, it always came up at some point; even with guys who were more on the casual side. To this day, I don't fully understand the whole back door intrigue. Why does it feel like every guy wants to do this? What is it about anal that's so appealing? The best part is, when I ask this — which I have several times — there's never really a clear answer, just a lot of shrugs, mumbling "It's just, different."
Well, no kidding!
There are plenty of women who love anal sex, too. They know all the tips and best positions for it, even. Some say their orgasms are better or that they have more. I've even met these girls. Then of course there are the ones who are terrified of it in general, and I'm not ashamed to admit I'm one of them.
What about guys? What do they really, really think about this sexual act that's been a topic of interest for them for, well, ever? Is it for bragging purposes or just about the way it feels?
I decided to find out by asking a slew of men this very question. Turns out not all of my theories were off, but there's also a lot more to it than just "it's different."
1. Michael, 36
It's much more the fact that it's dirty and taboo and hard core than that it actually feels any better. Guys just want to do it to say they did it. A lot of it is bragging rights, honestly.
2. Jason, 31
It's more calculated, baby steps, which isn't always as fun. In fact, you can't feel free to rev up the express train to pound-town when you know it could result in excessive anal bleeding, so you have to ease up when you're going back door.
3. Chris, 26
I'm more decent than most guys... and by decent I mean respectful. If you're taking a girl's anal virginity you really got to talk her through it.
4. Frank, 25
"Anal can be about a few things, the main one being domination. But it's also the idea of trying something new and that it's tighter than the vagina. It's also got this whole forbidden quality that makes it pretty hot.
5. David, 29
Some really girls love it. I've slept with girls who I could get close to cumming... but not quite there. Then I start to play with her butt and she goes wild.
6. Ben, 34
The only real draw back is just all the starting and stopping you have to do because it hurts her. It's can be difficult to stay hard. Also one time the girl cried, and I felt terrible. That killed it. So you're tense because you didn't get off, and because you feel guilty. It's like a double f*ck you. If you're with a girl who's actually done it before, it's pretty awesome.
7. Kevin, 27
It can actually feel more intimate than regular sex. It's not something you just start doing; there are conversations around it. Usually if a woman lets you do that, she trusts you. A lot of foreplay comes into play with anal, too, and it's gentler sex in general. People think anal and they think rough, hard-core sex, but it's much less so than vaginal.
8. Dan, 33
My girlfriend loves it. It frees up your hands to touch other parts of her body, so you're really stimulating everything at once.
9. Matt, 32
You can never have too much lube. Can't stress that enough.
