Alicia Vikander Might Wear This To The Oscars

The 2016 Oscars nominations have finally arrived, and major congratulations are in order for one budding starlet. Alicia Vikander snagged a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her riveting role in The Danish Girl, and honestly no one is more deserving. With stellar previous performances in esteemed films such as Ex Machina and Testament of Youth, the newcomer has clearly proved her talents. But her portrayal of Gerda, the loving wife of her transitioning husband in The Danish Girl, has got to be her best work yet, and is totally worthy of an Academy Award.

I, for one, am thrilled that she got nominated, not only because she earned it, but also because it means we get to see which wow-worthy gown she shows up in on the big night. So the question now remains, what exactly will Alicia Vikander wear to the 2016 Oscars? The forecast reads something simple, chic, with subtle sexiness.

Vikander may be a red carpet newbie, but in her short time in the spotlight she is already getting a reputation as the next style star on the rise, and it's easy to see why. Her white sequined Golden Globes dress was so stunning, and I predict that she will slay again come Oscar night.

Personally, I thought this was flawless. Perhaps she will opt for ruffles and sequins again?

Or maybe she will lean more towards something like this elegant look she donned at the UK premiere of The Danish Girl. This Louis Vuitton gown was sleek and simple, but still unique due to the bejeweled top. Perhaps her Oscars dress will have some embellishment?

Or maybe she will completely surprise us with an unexpected number like this one? The Victorian-inspired dress is super unique, and will definitely make her stand tall amongst the rest of the star-studded red carpet.

Then again, she could go the minimalistic route, like this satin black gown with a whole lot of sex appeal. It's all business from the front, but a total party in the back.

I am envisioning her in something similar to this Valentino dress she wore at the Cannes Film Festival. The velvet, mint green fabric combined with that long train feels super regal, and very appropriate for the prestigious Oscars.

Until the big night arrives, we can only guess. So here are my best predictions for what the starlet will actually wear to the highly anticipated formal event.

1. Victorian-Inspired

This Alexander Mcqueen gown from the Spring 2016 collection has got it all — fringe, a muted color scheme, sultriness, and an ethereal Victorian-type feel. Vikander would totally own this dress.

2. Silk

The actress has worn silk in the past, so we know she is a fan of the fabric. This Calvin Klein Spring 2016 gown is elegant, simple, and chic, just like her red carpet style.

3. Something Louis Vuitton

The actress wore Louis Vuitton to the 2016 Golden Globes, so we know she is a huge fan of the designer. This Spring 2016 Louis Vuitton dress has a vintage-inspired feel with a lot of edge, which would suit Vikander beautifully.

4. Embellished

We know Vikander loves embellishment per her past red carpet choices, and this Spring 2016 Jenny Packham in a bold orange hue would looks so gorgeous on her.

5. Regal

This Oscar de la Renta Spring 2016 gown is the winning Oscars dress in my eyes. It feels super regal, feminine, and unique at the same time which seems to be what the actress' style is all about.

6. Black With Unique Detailing

Vikander's fondness for chic, simple gowns would work well with this sleek black Badgley Mischka number.
