Benedict Cumberbatch is Even More Charming Now

What's one foolproof way to get the Internet to completely implode upon itself in the span of, oh, about ten seconds? Simple: All Benedict Cumberbatch has to do is accept an award without pants on. Case-in-point: When he received the U.K. National Television Award for best detective last night, Cumberbatch couldn't be at the ceremony in London as he was in Los Angeles at the time. Through "the magic of television," though, Cumberbatch appeared at the ceremony anyway by live-feed to accept the honor.

It started out normal enough, of course. Cumberbatch looked genuinely pleased and thankful, stating, "hello from L.A. … I'm over the moon. I can't tell you what this means...this is a vote by the public and you are the people that have made this the success of what it is. It's a real, real, real thrill and I wish I was there to pick up the award in person." Aww, sweet, right?

The camera then panned down to reveal that, below his dapper-looking suit jacket and tie, Cumberbatch was donning a pair of orange swim trunks on bottom. That is, of course, the customary uniform for everyone staying and living in L.A., so it makes sense.
