Louis Tomlinson Confirms Arrival Of Baby Boy

by Jennifer Still

I still remember the members of One Direction when they were young teenagers, auditioning as solo singers for the 2010 edition of the UK's X Factor. Since then, they've obviously grown up quite a bit, and Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne have gone on to achieve worldwide success beyond any of their wildest dreams. But that's not all that's changed — the guys have grown up in the public eye, and just this week, Tomlinson became the first in the group to become a father, welcoming a baby boy with Briana Jungwirth. Sure, the guys are still young — Tomlinson himself is only 24 — but it's clear that they're not just kids anymore, and the birth of this new life makes that clear, and it's worth celebrating.

Tomlinson himself confirmed earlier reports that his son had been born via Twitter in the early hours of Saturday, January 23, telling followers that the baby boy had been born and was healthy, and that he's "happy" to be a father. No doubt One Direction fans are happy about the new addition to the 1D family too, so to get in the spirit, why not put on some of the most fun, upbeat songs the band has to celebrate right along with Tomlinson?

"Best Song Ever"

I mean, the glory is all in the title here. "Best Song Ever" is upbeat, energetic, and a whole lot of fun. In other words, it's the perfect song for a celebration of any kind, and I can't imagine a better occasion than the birth of a new baby, to be honest.

"What A Feeling"

This is probably my favorite song from Made In the A.M. and I don't even know why — it just gives me a good "feeling", if you will, and makes me really happy every time I listen to. Also, I can't imagine the feeling that must come with becoming a parent for the first time, so the title is apt here, as well.

"History"

When you start a new phase of your life, it's only natural that you would reflect on those that have passed, so "History" is a nice, introspective addition to your playlist. One Direction as a band does have a whole lot of history together, and that's worth acknowledging.

"What Makes You Beautiful"

Is anything more beautiful than a brand new baby? I suppose that depends on whether or not you like babies. Assuming you do — especially since this is Louis Tomlinson's baby we're talking about, here — let's dance along to "What Makes You Beautiful" and be happy, shall we? (Also, holy smokes — how young were they?!)

"Perfect"

There's nothing more perfect than a brand new life, completely innocent and unchanged by the world around it... at least for now. Obviously the song isn't really about babies, but use your imagination and enjoy this amazing track, anyway.

"Story Of My Life"

Much like "History", "Story Of My Life" is an introspective track for when you want to look back on where you came from, where you are now, and where life will take you in the future. It's also just a really good, soulful song that is great to listen to, so what are you waiting for?

"Live While We're Young"

A lot of times, when we're younger, we spend all of our time wishing we were older so that we could do all the things we're not doing now. Of course, hindsight is 20/20 and it's not until you are older that you realize, man, time flies. "Live While We're Young" wants you to celebrate your youth before it gets away from you, so get to it.

"Drag Me Down"

Whenever you're in a really good mood, it always seems like there's someone, somewhere, who wants to pull you back down to earth and put a damper on your mood. Hint: don't let them! Live life to the fullest and enjoy yourself. You're alive and well, so celebrate it.

"Kiss You"

It's a good song, and you know it. You need no other reason to listen to it immediately.

Congratulations to Louis Tomlinson and Briana Jungwirth on the birth of their baby boy! We're celebrating right along with you!

"Steal My Girl"

This is the kind of song you listen to at the end of a very long day, as the festivities are winding down and you're starting to come back down to earth from all the fun. It's also just a really catchy song, so end your party time with this.

"Little Things"

Actually, I spoke too soon. "Little Things" is the perfect way to end your party and relax for the evening, totally happy and content with life.
