Queen Latifah to Show Singing Chops at Super Bowl

by Tanya Ghahremani

Need more reason to watch the Super Bowl this coming weekend? (More reason than watching the actual game and rooting for either the Seahawks or the Broncos, that is.) Well, good news: You've got one right here. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Queen Latifah will be singing "America the Beautiful" during the Super Bowl pregame show, which will air on Fox prior the the game on Sunday, Feb. 2.

This isn't the first time that Queen Latifah has participated in the major sports event in some form: Four years ago, in 2010, Queen Latifah also sang the song at Super Bowl XLIV (and she did a pretty flawless job, no surprise).

While Latifah's performance will be before the game, the entertainment acts don't stop there: The National Anthem will be performed by opera singer Renee Fleming before the game, and during the halftime show, Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers will perform.

Since we've still got a little under a week left to wait until the big game — and, thus, Latifah's performance — you can help to pass the time by checking out a clip of Queen Latifah's previous, awesome Super Bowl performance from 2010 below
