Major News For Teresa Giudice

by Lia Beck

It's been a long couple of years for Teresa Giudice, but the Real Housewives of New Jersey star now has some very positive news. Teresa Giudice has been released from house arrest and is officially through with the confinement part of her sentence for fraud. Her lawyer, James J. Leonard Jr. told E! News, "Teresa is no longer on house arrest and no longer wearing an ankle bracelet ... She's very excited and very much looking forward to starting a new chapter in her life." In addition, Teresa seemingly tweeted about the news herself, writing on Feb. 5, "feeling so blessed today."

In March 2014, Teresa was sentenced after pleading guilty to four counts of various fraud changes, while her husband, Joe Giudice, was charged with five. The reality star reported to the Federal Correctional Institution, Danbury in January 2015 and was released in December of the same year. Following this, she was put on house arrested with release set for early February.

While the news of her house arrest being over definitely marks a major milestone for Teresa, she's not out of the woods just yet. As her lawyer told People,

Effective this morning, Teresa is no longer subject to the parameters of home confinement. She is now free in all aspects from the custodial portion of her sentence. The restitution has been paid in full and what remains is a two-year period of supervised release, the terms of which we will remain in full compliance with.

As for her husband, Joe is set to begin his 41-month sentence in March.
