Anne Hathaway Is A Blonde Again

by Sienna Fantozzi

Winter is stereotypically the time to go a bit darker with your hair, but given that it's so dreary out, brightening up might actually be a slightly better idea. And if you need some inspiration, look no further than Anne Hathaway's new blonde hair. According to Refinery29, the actor lightened up her locks, but if you're thinking this is a look we've seen from her before, it's totally different. Trust.

The brunette decided to put a little spring in her hair color by going blonde and debuting her new look on Instagram. Hathaway posted a selfie on Sunday, wearing a plaid button-down, a cardigan, tan sunglasses, and a wide-brim black hat, and captioned it "Be honest. Did I unwittingly dress like a fashion scarecrow this morning?" Fashion scarecrow should totally become a thing, because she looks adorable, but what stands out more from this picture is her new hair color. And it's stunning.

The soft, golden blonde looks natural and subdued enough for the winter months, but has just enough brightness to give a little bit more of a pop. And when you can't rely on the sun for a golden tan, you might as well let your hair do it for you.

This shade of blonde is the perfect transitory phase for those looking to go lighter, but wanting to wait until spring/summer to really brighten up. Plus, it's always better and healthier for your hair to go lighter in stages. Even though her hair looks super natural, Hathaway is naturally pretty dark:

So this is quite a change. To be fair, though, she has been blonde before. Remember the 2013 Met Gala?

So much platinum fierceness going on there. It definitely required her to wear heavier eye makeup, though, so as not to wash her out, and the softer, honey blonde she is now is better for a more natural makeup palette. And though she's experimented with her hairstyle quite a bit, going from long:

She hasn't played with her color that much, so this change is pretty exciting. Can't wait to see it on a red carpet sometime (hopefully) soon!
