12 Of The Most Romantic Celeb Quotes

by Michelle McGahan

It's easy to get jaded when thinking of celebrity romance. And why not? With frequent divorces, possible PR stunts, and the whole smoke-and-mirrors aspect of Hollywood, finding real romance in the entertainment industry can sometimes seem like a rarity. But when you put that cynicism aside and look at these stars as living, breathing human beings with the capacity to fall in love, you slowly begin to realize that maybe there is hope for true love in Hollywood after all. Because underneath that primped and preened, camera-ready veneer are celebrities who are out there living out that hopeless romantic within them. And what better time to celebrate these romance-happy celebs than in the days leading up to Valentine's Day? Here are 12 super romantic celebrity quotes to set your heart a-flutter.

While most of these celebs' statements are too long to fit on a candy heart or even a carefully crafted, glitter-glued Valentine, it's not hard to see that they're truly genuine (and not straight from the mouth of a publicist). In fact, there's something so beautiful about stars letting the guards down and letting their hearts do the talking: it's vulnerable, it's honest, and it's raw. A little like falling in love, don't you think?

Hugh Jackman never misses an opportunity to speak ever so eloquently about his 20-year marriage to Deborra Lee Furness, but his love for his wife is perhaps best summed up in this quote: "She's the greatest thing that has ever happened to me," Jackman told Ellen DeGeneres, "and it just keeps getting better."

2. Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift has an uncanny ability to fit the most complicated of emotions into stunningly poetic lyrics. On "You Are In Love," a bonus track off of 1989 that she wrote about Lena Dunham and Jack Antonoff, Swift captures that feeling of vulnerability in romance.

"You keep his shirt / He keeps his word / And for once you let go / Of your fears and your ghosts," she sings. "One step, not much, but it said enough."

3. Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez may no longer be together, but the "Sorry" singer has been upfront about his feelings for his ex — and the Biebs speaks the truth.

"When you love someone that much, even if something comes between you, it's a love that never really dies," Bieber told Billboard of his love for Gomez.

4. John Krasinski

"So for me, the best days of my life started when I met my wife — that's the truth, it's not just me saying it because it sounds nice on a card," the former Office star told The Daily Beast of his wife Emily Blunt. "She's one of the coolest people, she's so talented, she's beautiful, and she's certainly out of my league. And so all of a sudden all of the things I loved, I got to find someone who loved that about me."

5. Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran's entire catalogue is filled with such achingly romantic lyrics that it's almost impossible to pick just one to include. For the moment, though, I've settled on the bridge from "Photograph," which features this type of poetry:

"Oh you can fit me / Inside the necklace you got when you were 16 / Next to your heartbeat where I should be / Keep it deep within your soul..."

6. Chris Pratt

Chris Pratt and Anna Faris are vocal about their love for one another in a way that could melt glaciers.

"Anna and I are meant to be together," Pratt revealed in a Reddit AMA. "Our relationship has made me believe in divine intervention and destiny."

7. Brad Pitt

When Angelina Jolie made the preventative decision to get her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed, Brad Pitt was with his wife every step of the way.

"There was no vanity to my wife's approach. It was mature," he revealed to Tom Brokaw. "'This is our life and we're gonna make the best of it.' There was a strength in that. It was just another one of those things in life that makes you tighter, and she was doing it for the kids, and she was doing it for her family so we could be together."

8. Calvin Harris

"It's boxes I didn't even know existed, she ticks," the Scottish DJ told KIS FM U.K. of girlfriend T. Swift. Put that bad boy on a candy heart, stat.

9. Jennifer Aniston

Sometimes, it's not about what you say, but how you say it. Such is the case with Jennifer Aniston, who was so overcome with emotion when Chelsea Handler brought up her engagement to Justin Theroux that she got choked up and all she could utter was, "I'm verklempt."

11. Kyra Sedgwick

One of Hollywood's longest-lasting romances, Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon are still going strong after 27 years together — and Sedgwick still gets butterflies when she sees her hubby.

"When he walks into a room, I'm still... I mean, my heart gets a little fluttery and I think, 'Oh! He's so cute. He's so hot,'" she revealed to Redbook. "That's literally the first thing I think. You can ask people on the set — it's palpable. He's still a mystery to me. And getting older together is scary and exciting."

12. Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato celebrated three years of sobriety with a heartfelt message to her longtime boyfriend, Wilmer Valderrama.

"I wish I could put into words how grateful I am for this man right here. But my love has grown to a level that words could never possibly express how much this man completes me," she captioned an Instagram. "He's loved me the way I never thought I deserved to be loved and with this day marking my 3rd year sober … After sharing my ups, putting up with my downs and supporting my recovery… he still never takes credit and I want the world to know how incredible his soul is. I really wouldn't be alive today without him. I love you Wilmer."

Let the Hollywood romance live on.
