And the GLAAD Nominees Are...

GLAAD, the nation's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender media advocacy and anti-defamation organization, announced the nominees for their annual awards on Thursday. Lady Gaga, Elton John, and Orange is the New Black have been nominated on the list of 130 nominees for the 25th annual GLAAD Media Awards.

GLAAD released a statement about the awards:

The GLAAD Media Awards honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives. The GLAAD Media Awards also fund GLAAD's work to amplify stories from the LGBT community and issues that build support for equality.

Some of the categories and nominees for the 2014 awards include:

Outstanding Film - Wide Release: Philomena, Blue Is the Warmest Color, Dallas Buyers Club, Kill Your Darlings, and The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.

Outstanding Film - Limited Release: Concussion, Geography Club, Out in the Dark, Reaching for the Moon, and Yossi.

Outstanding Comedy Series: Glee, Modern Family, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Orange is the New Black, and Please Like Me.

Outstanding Drama Series: Pretty Little Liars, Shameless, Grey's Anatomy, The Fosters, and Orphan Black.

Outstanding Music Artist: Lady Gaga, Elton John, Tegan and Sara, Vampire Weekend, and Goldfrapp.

Outstanding Documentary: Call Me Kuchu, God Loves Uganda, Bridegroom, The New Black, and Valentine Road.

Outstanding TV Movie or Mini-Series: Behind the Candelabra and In the Flesh.

Outstanding Reality Program: Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce, Cyndi Lauper: Still So Unusual, Dream School, Project Runway, and Small Town Security.

The GLAAD Media Awards ceremonies will be held twice on April 12 in LA at the Beverly Hilton and on May 3 in New York City at the Waldorf Astoria.
