Lena Dunham has far more bark than bite. She attended Howard Stern's 60th birthday party on Friday night and when it came time for a toast, Dunham had a few choice words for the radio king. After Stern called Dunham a little fat girl who kind of looks like Jonah Hill back in the beginning of January last year, the birthday party seemed like the perfect opportunity for Dunham to grab the mic and get back at Stern for his nasty remarks.
In front of party attendees including Jon Bon Jovi, Chelsea Handler, Heidi Klum, and Barbara Walters, Dunham made the following speech about the Sirius XM host:
He asked me if I was intimidated because my boyfriend could be getting much hotter ass. I didn’t have the wherewithal to ask Howard if he was intimidated because Beth [Ostrosky Stern] could definitely be with someone . . . who doesn’t look like a cartoon of a Jewish female horse.
However, no feelings were hurt. The actress admitted that her speech was all in good fun after hailing Stern as a "champion of women in the arts." The pair reconciled over the misunderstanding behind Stern's comments when Dunham called into his radio show back in January of 2013.
"I guess I just wanted to tell you I love you and I think you're terrific," Stern told Dunham after he apologized for his rude remarks last year. We love you too, Lena, for your serious side and hilarious side. More importantly, though, we know never to mess with you.
