This Is How Lorde Celebrates Her Grammys

Good news for Lorde and anyone who lives in Maryland (or, I guess, the Eastern seaboard in general): According to The Huffington Post, 17-year-old New Zealander songstress Lorde will headline the Preakness infield concert in Baltimore this coming May, which is taking place at the huge venue of Pimlico Race Course.

This is just the latest big piece of news for the teen: In addition to scoring this gig, Lorde just took home two Grammys at the recent award show: One in the Best Pop Solo Performance category, and one in the Song of the Year category — both for her breakout single "Royals."

News of Lorde's involvement in Preakness was announced and confirmed today by the Maryland Jockey Club. "Preakness InfieldFest enters its sixth year, now positioned as the region's biggest, best and most unique party with first-class music and top-notch racing throughout the day," they said in a statement. "Lorde's popularity is rising at a staggering rate from radio spins to social media to online plays and views. Her appeal cuts across multiple fan demographics and reflects the cutting edge talent fans have come to expect at InfieldFest. She is an extraordinarily talented artist and we look forward to welcoming her to Preakness InfieldFest."

Other acts involved in the festival will be announced soon. Previous performers have included Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Maroon 5, Bruno Mars, Train, and Pitbull. The festival will take place on May 17.
