Will Nick Lachey Appear In 'Dead 7'?

by Ashani Jodha

Zombies, boy bands and '90s nostalgia — oh my! If you haven't already seen the newly released Syfy trailer for the '90s zombie bad-ass boy band movie Dead 7 , starring three Backstreet Boys, one 98 Degree, some *NSYNCers, and four members of O-Town, please for the love of God and all that is your inner '90s wild child, stop what you are doing and watch it right now. Because, seriously, I do not know how to contain myself at this very moment. The bloody apocalyptic fantasy filled with cowboys, a few Walking Dead extras (aka zombies) and every crush you had in the '90s is set to come to life April 1. However, after watching, I've noted one detail: One important '90s hottie is obviously missing from the list. Guys, Is Dead 7 going to include a Nick Lachey cameo?

The makers of cult phenomenon Sharknado are behind this Western zombie flick that brings '90s boy band royalty together to fight an undead plague. Backstreet Boys singers Howie Dorough and A.J. McLean; *NSYNC's Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick' 98 Degrees cutie Jeff Timmons; and O-Town residents Erik-Michael Estrada, Jacob Underwood, Trevor Penick and Dan Miller all band together (see what I did there) to create one hilariously epic quit playing games saga — however, it's easy to take note of the lack of two heartthrobs Justin Timberlake and Lachey.

Is it possible that either singer — particularly Lachey — could still make a cameo, though? Obviously, something that big would be kept under wraps. However, it is worth noting that writer and lead protagonist Nick Carter reached out to his fellow Nick-named boy bander to star in Dead 7 via Twitter:

Butttt it's not clear if anything came of said tweet. Still, it's only right for Lachey to make a cameo appearance in the new Syfy film, since he is clearly not one to shy away from the camera. After guest-starring in various TV series like Charmed, Hope & Faith, and in movies like The Hard Easy, Lachey has proven he has some serious acting chops — it'd be a shame if he didn't reunite with his former 98 Degrees band member.

Recently, the 42-year-old father of two was seen on vacation with his beautiful wife Vanessa Minnillo in Ireland after taking a two-year music hiatus since his fourth solo album, The Soundtrack of My Life was released. So Lachey, between the hiatus and #TBTs of your glory days...

...I hope a cameo happened. Because we all know this movie will only be the literal proof of what '90s girl dreams are made of if you are in it.
