Most makeup lovers recognize the importance of a good highlighter or illuminator. For beauty fanatics like me, scrolling through my Instagram feed and seeing impressive strobing and highlighting photos is so damn satisfying. I mean, it also makes me watch ten hours of good YouTube tutorials to try to emulate the beauty and perfection of makeup done by professionals, but what are you going to do?
Asking if you should use highlighter is like asking if you should wear diamonds instead of nothing. In addition to giving your face dimension in a more natural way than a contour would, highlighters give you a constant glow throughout the day that looks natural.
The strobing techniques gives your entire face this kind of coverage by affecting areas like your T-zone and inner eyes that would normally need a little bit of a boost anyway. It tends to look a little more natural than contouring, especially if you're a little less precise.
