Who Is RHOD's Marie Reyes?

by Marenah Dobin

For Real Housewives superfans, it can be tough getting used to a new woman in the franchise. And now that Real Housewives of Dallas is starting, there are a handful of new ladies and a new city for us fans to get acquainted with through our televisions. This includes Real Housewives of Dallas cast member Marie Reyes. While Marie is not technically a Real Housewife, it seems like she is going to be an integral part of the new series as a Friend of the Housewives, and if past Friends of Housewives are any indication, I have a feeling that she will end up being one of the ladies who fans will love to watch.

Of course, we will learn more about Marie as the season goes on, but it's always nice to have a little background info, especially when it comes to the Real Housewives. There is always a ton of gossip when it comes to these women, so you'll have to make your allegiances quickly and you need a good starting point when to comes to choosing your faves. So, let's get to know Marie a little bit before the show premieres on Monday, April 11 on Bravo.

She Is A "Friend Of The Housewives"

Marie does not have the Real Housewife title, but she gets most of the perks. She gets the attention of being on reality TV and an inside view of the drama, but she does not have as intense of a spotlight as the full-time cast members. That sounds like an ideal start to a reality TV career to me. Marie told the Dallas Observer that she filmed for about 20 hours each week for three months.

She Is A Wife & Mother

At this point, most of the women on the Real Housewives shows are not even wives, so it is surprisingly unusual that Marie is actually married and has a 10-year-old daughter.

She Is A Registered Nurse And Owns A Medical Spa

Marie is not the kind of woman who wants to be famous for being famous. She has a great career that she is very proud of. Not only is she a registered nurse, according to Bravo, but she also has her own business called SkinSpaMED, which has locations in Dallas and Tarrant County. She used to be a national injection trainer at Medicis Aesthetics and has been a board member on the Expert Injector Advisory Board for Galderma Aesthetics. Clearly, reality TV is just a side hobby for this busy lady.

She Is Very Philanthropic

Marie is all about giving back to the community and helping others whenever she can. According to Bravo, she is on the board for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, serves as an honorary chair for AIDS Services Dallas, and avidly supports Women's Council for the Dallas Arboretum.

She Has Been Interested In Reality TV For A While

During an interview with the Dallas Observer , Marie revealed that she was on board with RHOD for a while and claimed that she has been up for a part in the series for "six or seven years."

She Knew Two Of The Housewives Before Filming

Marie told the Dallas Observer that she knew LeeAnne Locken and Tiffany Hendra before RHOD existed and that she met the rest of the cast once filming began.

She Is A Cat Lady

Marie loves spending time her cat which is super clear if you follow her on Instagram.

She Is Voting For Hillary Clinton

Not only is Marie an avid support of Hillary Clinton's bid for presidency, but she also got to meet her favorite candidate in person.

She Enjoys Skiing

Even though she lives in Dallas, Marie can hang in the cold weather. Not only that, but she is an experienced skier who loves to hit the slopes.

She Can Surf

Is there anything that this woman can't do?

She Loves To Travel With Her Family

She may be a part of RHOD, but Dallas is not the only place where she enjoys spending time. She loves to travel with her husband and daughter whenever they are able to.

She Loves Jolly Ranchers

We all have our guilty pleasures. Not only did Marie admit to ordering Jolly Ranchers in bulk, but she also likes to make sure she has a pack or two for her travels.

Marie seems to be a very well-rounded person, who will be able to bring a lot to Real Housewives of Dallas. It will be interesting to see how she fares during the show's first season.
