Scott Eastwood Has Joined 'Fast & Furious 8'

by Michelle Lulic

If haven't heard of Scott Eastwood by now, maybe his last name caught your eye. If you didn't make the connection that he is, in fact, Clint Eastwood's son, then odds are you would have heard about him sooner or later through his personal career alone. This 30-year-old actor is seriously on the rise in Hollywood. And, now that a Scott Eastwood has joined Fast & Furious 8, in a role written specifically for him in the upcoming franchise continuation, he is ready to show the world what he can do.

Eastwood's role in the film was revealed on Monday through Twitter, when the Fast & Furious account described him as playing Mr. Nobody's protégé. Mr. Nobody — played by actor Kurt Russell — appeared in the franchise's latest installment, Fast & Furious 7, and it now seems as if his storyline may be continuing with Eastwood's character by his side. However, that's the least exciting part of this new casting news. Eastwood's casting also comes as a nice nod to the late actor, Paul Walker, because the two actors were not only close friends, but practically brothers. In response to the news, Eastwood took to Instagram himself to comment on how much taking on this role means to him in the following post.

Not only does Scott Eastwood come from quite the family tree, but there are also a bunch of reasons why he is definitely fit for the leading man position. Right now, Hollywood is just getting to know him, but here are just some of the things that make him so perfect for the job.

1. He Is Action Hero Material

Aside from getting cast in Fast 8, he's also set to appear in this summer's Suicide Squad, and has appeared in the past in films like Fury and Gran Torino. With two hit films under his belt, there's sure to be more.

2. He Also Nails The Chick Flick Genre

Perhaps you caught him in Nicholas Spark's The Longest Ride? When he's not being the strong, up-and-coming action star, he's also able to be the suave lady killer. And I certainly hope he takes on more of those roles moving forward.

3. He Is Taylor Swift Approved

Perhaps you recognize him from Taylor Swift's "Wildest Dreams" music video. I don't know how Calvin Harris felt about that, but it was definitely a good thing for all of us fans.

4. He Can Surf

This new Hollywood star can not only surf, but he also grew up in California. With him, it's all about spending his days by the ocean and in the great outdoors.

5. He's Musically Inclined

Whether it's playing the guitar or belting it out to the music on the radio, Eastwood's Instagram has made it inherently clear that he is a lover of music.

6. His Instagram is On Point

Between his traveling, on set experiences, and his obsession with his dog, his Instagram is definitely worth following. Even though he grew up in the industry, he seems like one overall chill dude.

7. He's Clint Eastwood's Son

Clint Eastwood was definitely Hollywood's leading man of the past, so it only makes sense that his son would follow him in his footsteps. In fact, most of what he has learned about the business he credits to his father as well.

8. He's Single And Ready To Mingle

"Love finds you," he told People magazine in an interview, "You always get smacked with love when you least expect it." And what does he look for in a lady? "Trust, similar passions … and the sex has to be great. If any one of these things is off, it just might not work." Love that sense of humor.

9. He's All About Awesome Cars

Every movie star needs a sweet ride. Between his personal car endeavors and the cars he gets to work with on both the film Overdrive and the upcoming Fast & Furious movie, it seems like he knows what he's talking about. So, basically, I'm expecting to see a whole lot more of him out and about with some cool cars.

Keep an eye out for this member of Hollywood's next generation. And, as of right now, mark your calendars for Fast & Furious 8, hitting theaters April 14, 2017.
