Doris Roberts' Will Be Missed

by Lindsay Mannering

TMZ was first to break the news that former Everybody Loves Raymond star and beloved comedian and actor Doris Roberts passed away at age 90. The site claims Roberts died April 17 in Los Angeles, and former co-star Patricia Heaton tweeted "To my beloved Marie —RIP." How Doris Roberts died has not yet been made public — the cause of death has not been released. Update: Ryan Parker, a staff writer for the Hollywood Reporter claims that Roberts' rep told him Roberts "died last night peacefully in her sleep of natural causes."

Bustle has reached out to Roberts' rep but has not yet heard back.

Earlier: The actor was recently spotted by TMZ just a month ago while walking into a movie theater. The witty actor was there to see Hail, Caesar, and commented that she didn't want to go to any awards shows if she wasn't going to win any. Classic Doris.

The outpouring of love for the deceased actor is incredible. Along with Heaton and many, many others, Ray Romano shared kind words about Roberts with Deadline:

Doris Roberts had an energy and a spirit that amazed me. She never stopped. Whether working professionally or with her many charities, or just nurturing and mentoring a green young comic trying to make it as an actor, she did everything with such a grand love for life and people and I will miss her dearly.

Roberts was nominated for 11 Emmys, taking home four. Her work in Hollywood will always be remembered. As soon as there's information about her cause of death, this post will be updated.
