11 London Fashion Week Fall 2014 Ensembles We'd Love to See Kate Middleton Wear
Kate Middleton's style is a subject of debate for a reason. Often, the Duchess of Cambridge looks perfectly royal in twee dresses and what we assume are Philip Treacy chapeaus. But sometimes, she turns the fashion world on its head by donning something just a bit outrageous — a pop of print, a glittering evening gown, or one of her many striking Alexander McQueen ensembles. After seeing the daring collections at London Fashion Week, we were tempted to give Ms. Middleton a style update. And we're sure these preppy, playful ensembles are a whole lot more fun than the Duchess's new wardrobe mandates. Here's hoping the Queen also instructed Kate to wear bolder prints and overcome her fear of non-nude footwear.

Temperley London Fall 2014
This Temperley London sapphire jacket and coat dress ensemble is utterly, unapolagetically preppy, but then again, so is Kate Middleton.
Vivienne Westwood Red Label Fall 2014
We know this stripy ensemble is way outside Kate’s wheelhouse, but how fabulous would she look rocking this outfit?
Emilia Wickstead Fall 2014
Fitted lace sheath dresses in pastel shades are already a beloved staple in Kate’s wardrobe (if not, Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen got something seriously wrong). This bold Emilia Wickstead stunner adds a little peplum at the waist for extra impact.
Barbara Casasola Fall 2014
From the delicate, faded-rose shade to the pleats and simple belt at the waist, this Barbara Casasola dress looks like it was made for Kate Middleton. Although we imagine she, unlike the model, would want to pair it with some kind of undergarment.
Barbara Casasola Fall 2014
We can just picture the Duchess of Cambridge sauntering into a royal engagement in this amethyst-colored coat dress. And the matching fabric-covered buttons? Absolute perfection.
Peter Pilotto Fall 2014
She’s shown an interest in prints in the past, and we know she adores royal blue, so here’s hoping this Peter Pilotto number is on her radar.
Marios Schwab Fall 2014
Kate’s proclivity for a crisp white button-down has been well-documented, so we would love to see her update her closet with a slightly edgier version. This Marios Schwab ensemble is perfectly preppy with an an attitude.
Marios Schwab Fall 2014
Fitted, navy, and mini: this dress should already be in Kate Middleton’s closet.
Orla Kiely Fall 2014
Orla Kiely’s twee ensembles have appeared on the Duchess before, and we think this sweet peter pan-collared coat should be the next addition to her collection.
Matthew Williamson Fall 2014
We can just imagine this adorable mod dress with a pop of pastel pattern on Ms. Middleton.
