Don't Mock Channing Tatum For Being Sentimental

by Caitlin Flynn

Have you ever doubted that Channing Tatum is a near-perfect human being? Well, me neither, but be prepared to love the Magic Mike star even more. Tatum's Mother's Day Instagram tributes to his wife Jenna Dewan Tatum and his own mom are heartfelt and so sweet that he even acknowledged in them that he fully expects to be poked fun at due to the sentimental nature of his captions. (Perhaps, but not by me!)

First, Tatum shared one of his favorite photos of Dewan Tatum with their adorable daughter, Everly, shortly after the child's birth, and described the experience of watching her become a mom as "life changing," also describing her as having "deep strength and other worldly grace." He then noted that he saw a quote earlier in the day that struck a chord with him: "The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother."

Tatum also paid tribute to his own mom, complete with another adorable photo and caption. He joked that his mom has put up with a lot from him over the years, before turning serious and writing that they got to where they are because of her. Tatum added that a lot of people can say it better than him, and so he included a quote that he called "straight up my mama," courtesy of Abraham Lincoln: "All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother."

Check out both adorable posts below:

It's easy for celebrities to make grand gestures and buy the most expensive presents for the special moms in their lives, but there are certainly many sweet ways to make the day special for one's mother. There's no right or wrong way to celebrate Mother's Day, but what I love about Tatum's posts are that they prove the most beautiful, thoughtful tributes are sometimes the simplest ones. Words of deep gratitude and lovely quotes are an amazing way to express appreciation and love for all the incredible mothers out there. It's great that Tatum decided to be so sentimental — even if he expects to get mocked a bit on social media for it.
