How To Copy Lucy Hale's Summer-Perfect Look

by Alexa Dragoumis

If you're a Pretty Little Liars fan like me, then you're already well aware that Lucy Hale's hair and makeup is always flawless. But yesterday, at the NYLON magazine and BCBGeneration Young Hollywood event, Hale stepped onto the red carpet sporting a look absolutely perfect for the warmer months ahead. Trust me, I had to share these photos because once you see her look, you're going to wonder how to copy Lucy Hale's 'NYLON' Young Hollywood Party look. And that's exactly why I'm here to break it down for you.

This summer, bright eye makeup, the perfect shade of nude lipstick, and a messy chop are all a must, and last night, Hale repped all of those trends. The Pretty Little Liars star shared a couple of photos on her Instagram from the event, showing off her flirty makeup and boho braid. In the caption, Hale calls the look "cranberry eye," which is totally genius! Before I get started on breaking down the look, let's take a closer peek at her photos, since I know you're dying to see them by now.

You'll probably notice that even though this is a summer look, she doesn't overdo it with bronzer.

And as always, I'm totally envious of her perfect brows.

Ready to play copycat? Here's how you'll do it:

1. Create A Clean Canvas

VirginN Pure Minerals Foundation, virginnmineralmakeup.com, $38.00

One of my absolute favorite foundations in the summer is VirginN Pure Minerals because the silk peptides in the product lock in your skin's natural moisture, while fighting acne-causing bacteria and preventing the product from sweating off. In other words, it's totally white-blouse approved!

2. Opt For A Coral Blush

Chanel Sunkiss Ribbon, chanel.com, $70.00

Coral blush? Sounds kind of crazy, but seriously, this Chanel blush goes on naturally, creating a slightly flushed look without making it obvious that you're wearing blush. That being said, the color is very buildable, so you can make its appearance more dramatic if you want to.

3. Define Your Brows

Hale is definitely lucky because she has naturally thick brows, but if you're not quite sure how to fill in yours to make them look fuller, watch and learn.

4. Create A Smoky Eye With Shades Of Pink

Mac Eye Shadow Burgundy Times Nine Palette, mac.com, $32.00

Before using this palette, I'd recommend starting with a light neutral shade all over the lid and all the way up to the brow bone. Then, highlight your brow bones and the inner corners of your eyes with a light, shimmery shadow. Once you do that, the bottom row of this MAC palette can be used to create the perfect cranberry smoky eye. And the second shade in the second row is perfect for the outer V of each eye.

5. Add Texture To Your Hair

If you look closely at Hale's photo, you'll notice her hair is wavy, but the waves aren't perfect curls. So, the best way to prep the hair for the undo is by creating bedhead waves.

6. Create The Perfect Boho Braid

If your hair is shorter like Hale's, simply pull the hair back into a messy bun and add a few bobby pins to fasten. It shouldn't look perfect or else you won't get a look like hers.

7. Finish With The Perfect Shade Of Pinky-Nude

Mac Lipstick in Brave, maccosmetics.com, $17.00

I'd say this one's a pretty close match!
