5 Male Celebrities Who Helped Plan Their Weddings

by Kenya Foy

Who says the burden of wedding planning should always fall on the woman? Not Dwyane Wade, at least according to his fiancée Gabrielle Union. In a recent interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Union admitted that Wade's so involved in the couple's upcoming nuptials that he's been "hoarding bridal magazines." Fortunately, Wade is in good company when it comes to famous men taking the reins on the production that is wedding planning. Opting to do more than simply shower, get dressed and show up, these five celebrity guys show they aren't afraid to get involved in making sure that all goes well on their big day.

Kanye West

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live , West's fiancée Kim Kardashian shared that despite the common belief that most guys take a hands-off approach when it comes to the wedding, her beau "knows what he wants," and is actually passionate and caring about their upcoming nuptials, reportedly set to take place in Paris where the couple shares a second home.

John Legend

Soul-stirring crooner that he is, Legend proved that not all the decisions of the couple's special day were left up to his bride, model Chrissy Teigen. He provided his own special form of entertainment at the couple's 2013 Lake Como wedding when he took the mic and serenaded his new bride with a song he penned especially for her.

Dax Shepard

Even though the couple's extremely frugal nuptials earned the title of "Worst Wedding Ever," Parenthood actor Dax Shepard sprung into action and kept his wedding to actress Kristen Bell from becoming a total disaster after they discovered at the last minute they needed someone to officiate their courthouse wedding. After witnessing Jimmy Kimmel's over-the-top stroll down the aisle, Shepard opted for a seriously low key wedding that set the couple back a mere $142, including the cost of the sandwiches they dined on after saying "I do."

Pharrell Williams

Clearly the "Happy" singer's influence was all over this wedding as the couple reportedly had a Star-Trek themed reception where guests were encouraged to star-gaze through discreetly placed telescopes, while the staff donned astronaut costumes. The lavish affair was accented with a mini-concert that featured performances by Usher and Busta Rhymes.

Aaron Paul

Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul pulled out all the stops for his wedding to actress/director Lauren Parsekian. From the Parisian wedding theme to the music selection, Paul called all the shots. Finally, in what was probably one of the most considerable wedding moves ever, Paul arranged for everyone on the guest list to learn the lyrics to The Shivers' "Beauty," to help sing along to the group's live performance.
