Drake Better Show Up At The 2016 BBMAs

by Michelle McGahan

With only The Weeknd and Justin Bieber ahead of him, Drake is one of the most nominated artists at this year's Billboard Music Awards, scoring an impressive 11 nominations in categories like Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Rap Artist, and even two nominations in the Best Rap Album category (If You're Reading This It's Too Late and What A Time To Be Alive, his album with Future, are both nominated). And with Rihanna slated to perform at the award show on Sunday night — her hit single "Work" features the former Degrassi star — all eyes are on the Views rapper: Is Drake at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards? Update: Drake did not attending the 2016 BBMAs.

Earlier: Most notably, Drake did not walk the red carpet — though his actual presence at the award show has yet to be seen. While he could still make a surprise appearance throughout the night (with all those nominations, I'm holding out hope for sure), his duet partner/possible legit love interest/longtime friend Rihanna did make her coveted red (pink) carpet appearance. And, though Drake was clearly not her red carpet date, there's still a chance that he could make the night a memorable one by coming out to do his part in RiRi's performance — or collect any of the awards he is certainly slated to win.

You know what they say: It ain't over til it's over, and here's hoping it's not over until Drake has taken his rightful place at the 2016 BBMAs.
