Questlove's 'Law & Order' Dream Comes True

by Lia Beck

Questlove had a dream that I'm sure many Law & Order fans can relate to and now that dream is coming true. Questlove will play a dead body on Law & Order: SVU in an upcoming episode. This all came about because in November 2013 Questlove — of the band The Roots who serve as Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show house band — told Us Weekly that he would love to appear on the show as a corpse. Number seven on his list in the magazine's 25 Thing You Don't Know About Me feature reads, "It's my fantasy to play a dead body on Law & Order." And now, a mere three months later, it's actually happening.

Questlove's cameo has been confirmed through pictures posted online from the Law & Order: SVU writers' room, series regular Ice-T, and Questlove himself. It is unknown when exactly Questlove's episode will air, but it will be episode 18 of season 15. The episode will mark Mariska Hargitay's directoral debut for the show on which she has starred as Olivia Benson for all 15 seasons. The episode is also reported to feature Alec Baldwin.

With Questlove's dream coming true so quickly after he mentioned it in Us Weekly, you might be wondering what else was on his 25 Things list. There aren't any other goals, but Questlove did write that that his hair "smells like French toast," that he once "drove in a blizzard to play tambourine with Amy Winehouse," and that he owns 3,000 Afro picks. One of those Afro picks is visible in the set photo posted by Ice-T.

Questlove's own Instagram picture gives Us Weekly a shout out and shows how excited he is about appearing on the show. The photo simply shows a sign on set which he captioned, "See @UsWeekly? Dreams come true! #25ThingsYouDontKnowAboutMe #BucketListCheck."
