The Kylie Lip Kit Package Is Getting A Redesign

by Jessica Willingham

Count on sticky fingers to ruin it for everyone. If you've been #blessed enough to get your hands on a Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kit, you know it comes in an edgy, black and white packaging that basically screams Kylie Jenner. Unfortunately, that will be no more. If you're wondering why Kylie's Lip Kit packages is getting a redesign, here's the sad truth.

If you've ever feasted your eyes on the real life Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kits, you know it's branded from start to finish. Not only do the lip kit packages themselves come in cool packages with embossed lips and dripping color, but the actual package that the packages arrive in has distinct branding as well. The fan-favorite shipping box is cardboard black and white, dripping in black gloss. They're instantly recognizable, and that's the problem. Apparently, this packaging is so recognizable (and the kits are in such high demand) that packages are being stolen off porches and out of mailboxes everywhere, according to Yahoo. The Better Business Bureau received several complaints and claim the company is redesigning packages to deal with the problem.

“Currently the BBB is receiving multiple complaints from this company's customers claiming that after ordering and paying for products, some or all of the products are not being shipped as expected," reads an alert message on the BBB's website.

"The company's refund policy states, "We do not accept returns, exchanges or refunds. All sales are final." However the company will replace missing items. The company has informed the BBB that they confirm the weight of items shipped prior to shipping but the allege that because of highly-recognizable labeled packaging, containers are being opened and products removed. The company has informed BBB that they will soon be changing the labels on their packages.”

Each Kylie Lip Kit retails for $29, but can go for $60 or more on e Bay (or $600 for all nine shades).

Kylie Cosmetics told the BBB that the new packaging will be much less recognizable, but let's be honest — it will probably not be half as cute.

That said, a boring package is better than no package at all, am I right? Here's to hoping King Kylie has more discreet ways to delight her fans.
