Brooke Burke-Charvet Will No Longer Co-Host 'Dancing With The Stars' In A Surprising Pre-Season Elimination

It looks like someone has been booted from the show before the season even began. Brooke Burke-Charvet has been let go as co-host of Dancing With The Stars , and the news has been a surprise to her, co-host Tom Bergeron, and fans alike.

Burke-Charvet, who was crowned winner back in season seven with partner Derek Hough, has been serving as host since the tenth season, accumulating seven seasons of interviews, glitz, dancing, celebrities, and sometimes head-scratching song covers. She expressed her shock via Twitter: “weird day….Shocking pre-season elimination #DWTS…ME. @Tom_Bergeron didn't even read my name. I won't be returning to the show this season."

Bergeron was also surprised to learn his co-host of seven seasons will no longer stand by his side. He tweeted back in response: “@brookeburke Weird day, indeed. Won't be the same without you. Dinner soon. No spray tanning required.”

E! News reports that beyond even beyond Twitter, she’s expressing a combination of shock and sentiment, and that she said:

There’s no word exactly on why she got the ax, but executive producer Conrad Green confirmed that she indeed was getting ousted from the show.

Fans took to the Internet as they would if a favorite contestant got the boot, expressing confusion at the decision to eliminate the co-host.

There’s no word on who will replace Burke-Charvet yet, but the show will return for its eighteenth season on March 17.
