Need Supply Co.'s NEED Line Is Beyond Basic

by Melanie Richtman

Need Supply Co., best known for carrying the coolest of the cool, like A.P.C. and Vans, has decided to add a new brand to its roster — specifically NEED, its own line of simple separates that will seamlessly into your closet. But how much will Need Supply Co.'s NEED line cost?

The 18-piece collection, which is being called NEED because they feel it fills the gaps in your closet, costs between $65 to $236 and includes the basics you've been longing for, like ribbed tees and slouchy sweatshirts, and the trendy pieces you've been coveting, like jumpsuits and cropped flare jeans.

And while Need Supply Co. is based in Richmond, Virginia and has ties in Japan, the entire collection was designed and produced in Los Angeles, using Japanese materials. The line has items for both women and men. NEED is available online and in Need Supply Co.'s stores in Virginia and Japan.

"We want people to feel good wearing our clothes," explains Creative Director Gabriel Ricioppo. "That excitement to wear something you really like has always motivated me, and we want to share that with our friends and customers."

I think it is safe to say we are very excited to get our hands on this line. Here are some of the pieces I'm most excited about:

This Cropped Sweatshirt

Just think how cute this would be with a pair of cutoffs this summer.

These Cropped Flares

The Pen Slash In Medium, $185, needsupply.com

Don't mind me, I'm just ordering these pants while I write. The cropped flare is so in right now and the slits in the knees make them seem even cooler.

These Wide Leg Trousers

What a fun color.

This Mock Neck Tee

Basically the key to being cool these days.
