TMZ claimed Heard appeared in court with a bruised face and alleged that Depp physically assaulted her and claimed that she is the victim of repeated domestic violence. Alongside her lawyer, Samantha Spector, Heard reportedly showed up with several photos depicting various bruises allegedly given by Depp throughout the duration of their marriage. Sources made similar claims to People on Friday. One source claimed to the publication, "This was only the latest incident." Earlier: On Thursday, a rep for Depp released the following statement to People about other rumors surrounding his divorce from Heard:
Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life. Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly.
TMZ also reported that Heard claimed that after Depp allegedly abused her he offered her money to stay quiet. However, rather than accepting the alleged offer, TMZ reported that Heard filed for divorce instead on Monday, May 23. Both TMZ and People have also shared a photo showing what appears to be a bruise on Heard's right eye. Per People, Heard submitted the photo as evidence to the court.
On Wednesday, reports surfaced about Heard filing for divorce from Depp. TMZ reported that the reason for their split was irreconcilable differences.
