When you think of designer Mara Hoffman, chances are you conjure up imagery of dreamy summer prints, kaleidoscopic bathing suits, and chic boho dresses. But now you can also think of equally intriguing makeup, seeing as a new Sephora x Mara Hoffman collection is coming out soon. For those who aren't as familiar with the name, Hoffman is a New York-based designer who specializes in clothing and swimwear, while big, bold prints are the name of her game. Her patterns veer towards the experimental, the colorful, and oftentimes feel almost collaged. It's no surprise that her upcoming collab is going to be as equally playful and colorful as her womenswear.
According to Popsugar, "The designer has teamed up with Sephora on her first-ever, limited-edition makeup collaboration dubbed Kaleidescape." Talk about a fitting name. But when will it hit our shelves? It seems we only have to wait until July, Popsugar reported, adding that the line will include "makeup, brushes, and cosmetics cases" and the packaging will be wrapped in prints from her latest fashion collection.
From body balms to brushes, Hoffman told Popsugar that her line isn't meant to glam you up to the nines, but give you a bohemian, minimalist look. That's what I call sticking to one's brand.
Hoffman shared with Popsugar, "I don't want you to look like you're wearing makeup. I've never really related to that. I think now as I get older, too, I love seeing a woman who is even more pared down."
With her designs often described as having "'70s glam roots," in the words of Vogue, it's pretty fitting that her first makeup collection will be so natural. What's more hippie-esque than brushing out your hair, swiping on some balm over you skin and mane, and then throwing a nude lippie into your purse and going out the door?
All in all, this line is set to make for a perfect beauty routine come hot July days. Who needs heavy makeup when you're going to be melting on patios and barbecuing on decks anyway? The only things that are going to be loud about this collection will be the super fun cases and packaging, which come in the label's iconic prints. So now all we have to do is wait until July to run and get 'em.
