Amanda Seyfried Will Take Over for Mila Kunis

by Alanna Bennett

Seth MacFarlane's fully embroiled in pre-production for the sequel to 2012's raunchy teddy bear comedy Ted. Am I the only one still confused and vaguely upset by the fact that that first movie occurred in the first place? REGARDLESS, Ted 2 's will star Amanda Seyfried as the female lead.

When I first heard this news, via Deadline, I misread the title of the article and thought Seyfried would be playing the straight-out lead, replacing Wahlberg as the center of the film alongside the titular Ted. Then I re-read the title, and I realized it's just the usual: She's playing opposite Wahlberg in what it would be pretty damn safe to assume will be a romantic capacity.

Wahlberg's character of course ended the first film in a relationship with Mila Kunis' Lori, but Kunis will apparently only be featured in a small role in the film, as MacFarlane's decided to take the sequel in a different direction from the couple. Seyfried's also featured in MacFarlane's upcoming A Million Ways To Die In the West, co-starring alongside Neil Patrick Harris, Charlize Theron, Sarah Silverman, Liam Neeson, and MacFarlane himself. Deadline reports that Kunis and MacFarlane are still on good terms, but it seems possible that MacFarlane's got a new "muse," whatever the hell that means for Seyfried.
